Greetings,

This week we offer thanks to the Ervin Lee Brisbon Fund for a $6,000 grant supporting our work toward a better future for all of Greensboro. The fund honors the late community activist and his legacy of advocating for African American children.
  • We’re also sending thanks down East Market Street – to the News & Record’s editorial writers for counting us among the city’s blessings, and to N.C. A&T State University for the chance to participate in and learn from events tonight and in February (see below). Joya, our communications director, will moderate tonight; Jill, our executive director, will do so in February. Both events are part of A&T’s multi-year project, “The American South Meets South Africa.”
  • Except for a few holes we’d love more volunteer help filling, we’ve compiled all the transcripts (and links to the podcasts) from our three public hearings in one place. Check ’em out.
  • Volunteer of the Week: Kendra Dalton, visiting us from Pulaski, Va., for helping with our fundraising mailing last week and for general office assistance. Thanks, Kendra!
  • This week’s progress indicator: We sent more than 600 letters to individuals and congregations seeking the remaining funds we need to publish printed and multimedia versions of our final report. (To make a donation, click here.)
