As the deadline for our final report draws near, we�re focusing almost all of our resources on research. Our public events, for the most part, are over. Although we hope to plan another GTRC Social at some point, the enormity of our task, unfortunately, leaves little time for socializing.

• We offer thanks this week to the Ohio-based Romano Family Foundation for its $10,000 donation in support of our work. This granting agency provides small gifts to organizations that are seeking to improve their communities.
• Thanks, too, to the Greensboro Historical Museum and Charles Blackmon of the law firm Gray Johnson Blackmon Lee & Lawson for providing space for two important research meetings last week. Thanks in part to the comfortable accommodations, both meetings were meaningful and productive.
• Volunteer of the Week: Christina Sanchez, a Guilford College student who has contributed many hours over two semesters researching media coverage of the tragedy of Nov. 3, 1979, its aftermath, and the truth and reconciliation process. Thanks, Christina!
• This week�s progress indicator: Not counting statements and court documents housed in Wilson Library at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the Commission has collected more than 14 linear feet of other documentary evidence from various sources.
